Darren Wise - no longer a "Fire Hazard"

Darren Wise, Lib Dem candidate at the last local elections in Southgate and previously in Furnace Green, is celebrating the fact he is no longer classed as a "Fire Hazard" by UGC Cinemas. Darren, who is a wheelchair user, has been prevented for the last 10 years from going to the Cinema on his own as he was deemed a "Fire Hazard" by them - and they insisted he could only go if he was accompanied.

"I've always been upset that they treated me as a second class citizen and I'm glad that has now changed." Darren, who has been allowed to go to the K2 Leisure Centre on his own and to The Hawth (after getting them to change their policy some years ago) is now looking forward to being able to see the films he wants to, when he wants to.
