Huhne and Opik Feature at Effingham Conference

Lembit Opik was one of the keynote speakers at the South East Regional Conference

Liberal Democrat Environment Spokesman Chris Huhne MP and the Leader of the Welsh Liberal Democrats Lembit Opik MP were the keynote speakers at the South East Regional Conference in Leatherhead on Saturday 4th November. Chris Huhne joined the Conference before going on the join the Environment march in London later in the day.

Chris Huhne spoke about the distinctive and committed Liberal Democrat approach to the environment, with a tax neutral "Green Tax Switch" to increased road taxes for the largest cars and on flights by airlines balanced by a commitment to reduce income taxes.

Lembit Opik outlined the Lib Dem approach in Parliament and exhorted members to go out and seek to win in their areas as the Liberal Democrats continue to grow and win more seats and local and Parliamentary level.

There were also debates, question time sessions including with South East MEP Sharon Bowles and other, a wide ranging training schedule and more.
