Crawley Liberal Democrats changes for 20069.59.33pm UTC (GMT +0000) Sat 19th Nov 2005
This week has seen Crawley Liberal Democrats hold there AGM and Officers have now been elected for the calendar year 2006. The new Officers will take office on 1 January 2006 and will serve till 31 December 2006. Amongst the changes Councillor Gordon Seekings will take over as Chair from former Furnace Green Councillor David Barry. David will now becomes Vice-Chair of Crawley Liberal Democrats.. Speaking after the meeting Gordon said "David was a superb Chair and has taken us through the last 3 years with a panache that belied some of the difficult decisions that had to be made. I am sorry that David was unable to continue as Chair but the Liberal Democrats constitution requires a change in Chair after three years."
Barry Hamilton will be continuing as Treasurer and Helen Bannister also continues as Secretary. However Peter Bannister returns to the role he has performed before as Membership Secretary. Howard Llewellyn, who was Membership Secretary, chose not to stand for that position this year but has been elected in his own right to the Executive of the Crawley Liberal Democrats.
Also elected at the AGM were the Regional and Federal Party Conference Representatives. Regional Representatives will be Peter Bannister and James Cotter and Federal Representatives will be Councillors Gordon & Linda Seekings.
