Rupert says "A multi-cultural society should be celebrated"

12.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Sun 17th Apr 2005

I believe that Britain should remain a safe haven for oppressed people throughout the world. Some of Britain's historical names have origins that are not "home grown". People such as Isambard Kingdom Brunel and Sigmund Freud.

There is a declining birth rate in Britain, and our economic position is under threat if we don't take steps to ensure that skilled labour from overseas is welcomed here in the same way that Germany and the USA do. What's more, managed migration will allow a genuine multi-cultural society to continue to develop and flourish - and that is something to be celebrated and not condemned.
