Gordon & Linda Seekings - re-elected in Northgate

Once again Gordon & Linda Seekings have been overwhelmingly re-elected to serve the residents of Northgate Ward.

Gordon, who has been one of Northgate's Councillors for over 17 years said "it was a stunning endorsement of the Liberal Democrats record in Northgate". Linda, who first represented Northgate in 1994, added "it's an honour to have been re-elected. We are proud to serve the residents of Northgate for a further term of office."

Due to the changes in the electoral arrangements in Crawley this has resulted in "all up" elections this year. Next year, 2005, are the County Council elections but from 2006 Crawley will once again revert to elections "by thirds". This means that Linda Seekings will serve as Northgate's Councillor till then and Gordon till 2007.

The result in full:

Blakeman (Tory) 218

Calcott (Labour) 276

Richards (Labour) 268

Gordon Seekings (Lib Dem) 610

Linda Seekings (Lib Dem) 568

Townsend (Tory) 190

Lib Dem 55.3%, Labour 25.5%, Tory 19.2%
