Furnace Green News - Grass cutting and parking10.18.14pm UTC (GMT +0000) Tue 1st Jun 2004
Poor grass cutting and the debris not being cleared away properly, has caused blocked drains in various streets in Furnace Green but especially so in Greenacres, Furnace Drive and Weald Drive. The Furnace Green Focus Team, David Barry and Roger McMurray, say that this is typical problem in many parts of Crawley. Roger McMurray went on to say "Our Liberal Democrat Councillors in Northgate have found this as well. Crawley Borough Council is good at talking the talk on keeping the streets clean but they don't always do it as well residents would like." David Barry and Roger McMurray will push Crawley Borough Council to"Walk the walk as well as talk the talk" Parking issues have also been raised with the Furnace Green Focus Team. The junction of Furnace Drive and Sylvan Road, opposite the Doctors/Dentists surgery in particular, has been mentioned many times as a place where dangerous parking on the corner of these two streets seems to be normal rather than exceptional. Complaints on this issue have been directed at Crawley Borough Council, West Sussex County Council, and the Local MP, but absolutely no urgency has been given to this at all by them.
